Arrests Made for Prostitution Law Violations in Sendai On the 21st of this month, authorities from the Sendai Central Police Station and the Prefectural Police's Living Environment Division conducted a search of a storefront-type sexual service establishment named "Kinka" located in Kokubuncho, Aoba Ward, Sendai City. This operation was part of an investigation into violations of the Anti-Prostitution Law. During the raid, three individuals were arrested, including the 57-year-old manager Seiichi Hashimoto from the same district, and two Chinese nationals: 55-year-old Suguru Zhang, who is unemployed, and 50-year-old Ling Jia, a worker from Katsushika Ward in Tokyo. They are suspected of facilitating prostitution involving female employees of Chinese nationality. Hashimoto is accused of providing a location for prostitution while being aware of the activity, specifically between 11:10 PM and 11:25 PM on the 20th. Zhang allegedly solicited passersby on the street nearby, offering services for 12,000 yen, stating, "Full service available," which indicates an invitation to engage in prostitution. Jia is suspected of providing sexual services to customers within the establishment, which is located in a prohibited area for such operations. According to the police, all three suspects deny the charges, claiming they were merely providing massages. The police are also investigating the possibility that the establishment's profits may have been funding organized crime, as well as whether there are other individuals involved in the actual management of the business. The search operation began around 2:00 AM on the 21st, involving approximately 30 personnel from the police and the Sendai Immigration Bureau.
